Distraught daughter reveals dad told her ‘I love you’ before he died in car park – The News


 The heartbroken teenage daughter of a homeless groundsman who died in a car park in the early hours of Saturday revealed his last words to her were “I love you”   at 2.40am and was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.  A woman was arrested on suspicion of administering a noxious substance with intent to injure in connection with the case and she has now been released under investigation  Now his heartbroken daughter Jade has has told how he rang her at teatime the day before his death to say he was grateful and he loved her, Gloucestershire Live reports  “I have been trying to help him since he became homeless,” she said.  “He moved into the van and stayed in car parks all over Gloucester  “I spoke to him yesterday about 6.30pm and the last thing he said to me was ‘I love you’ ”  Jade, of Swindon, Wiltshire, has revealed how her mum and his ex-partner Sharon Dyke, had been trying to help Mark since he became homeless a few months ago  According to family members, he had been living in his work van since losing his flat around August this year  Mr Hemming had four children with Miss Dyke, Josh, 20, Jade, 18, and John Joe, 16 Their fourth child died aged five months from meningitis.  Sharon says they split up in April 2018 and Mr Hemming remarried in October last year  She said: “He was living in Barton Street until August when he became homeless.  “He moved into his van and stayed in the car park in Barton Street and here Myself and my daughter Jade helped him as much as we could.  “I took him a beef lasagne around 7pm on Saturday night He said he enjoyed it and would see us later.”  She also brought him a cup of coffee around an hour later because it was getting cold, she said  But police arrived in the early hours of the morning to say he had been found in the van and later died  “It’s hard to believe,” she said.  “He was a lovely man and our kids loved him.
